Do you think the current focus (perhaps obsession) with lesson structures sometimes causes teachers to underestimate the importance of these spontaneous real time instructional decisions that can't easily be scripted or standardised?
Absolutely, agree with you there and I speak about this quite a bit in my socials. Structured teaching doesn’t mean we forget about the students in front of us!

Good advice here--I'm amazed that there are teachers out there for whom this isn't common knowledge.
